    Log into njea.org to register. Please make sure your current email address is updated in “My Profile” prior to registering. “My Profile” is located at the top of the page. Instructions and the invitation will be sent to the email on file.

    This NJEA webinar is meant for members who will likely retire in the next five years. Many have attended an XYZs of Retirement workshop already or are at least familiar with the retirement system in which they are enrolled. Participants follow along with their own individual retirement estimates as the presenter discusses various retirement options. Retiree health benefits are reviewed along with the important steps to retirement.

    After the presentation portion, members may ask questions. Webinars are held in a small group format. These webinars are typically given after school throughout the yearUpcoming Webinars – Sept. 13, Sept. 28

This workshop will provide participants with an overview of the three stages of the Understanding by Design template. It will also look deeper into Stage 1: Learning Goals, Essential Questions and Enduring Understanding. Participants will be challenged to consider what true understanding looks like and how to promote it in their classrooms.

March 8, 2017: Click for printable registration form – Introduction to Blogging MCCC Conf. Center

Blogging has opened the door for educators to connect through reflection of experiences and sharing of resources. This online form of journalism has also become a way for educators to network with colleagues locally and around the globe. With blogs, teachers have a professional resource at their fingertips. On the student-centered side, blogs are an accessible way to build online portfolios of student-authored writings and school experiences from the chair in a classroom to coffee shop. This session will introduce participants to Blogger, a free tool for blogging. We will observe examples, talk legalities and start you on the path to connecting with like-minded colleagues to build your professional learning community. PD Certificate will be available.

Come and share what is happening with negotiations in your district, and hear what is going on in other districts throughout Mercer County! It doesn’t matter if you are currently bargaining, or in the first or second year of a contract, this meeting is for you!!!

This workshop will describe the basics of the retirement system for school employees. Information on procedures, health benefits, working in retirement, life insurance, types of retirement, taxes and pension options will be presented. Time will be allotted for questions and answers.

The NJEA MLT Program (Social Justice Training) helps members draw the connection between achieving social justice in schools and realizing academic success for all students. The program lays the foundation for social justice advocacy by assisting educators in creating more just and effective learning environments. Participants will:
  • Deepen educators’ understanding of social justice principles and why these principles are relevant to their work.
  • Explore the impact of social justice issues on students and educators.
  • Empower educators to apply the principles of social justice when confronted with social oppression in the workplace or Association
